Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco, an American-Canadian singer and songwriter. She has more than twenty albums. DiFranco classifies her music as folk-rock and alternative. But it has influences from hip-hop, punk and jazz. Ani DiFranco, widely regarded as an icon of women's rights and Grammy award-winning musician is thought to be the pioneer of DIY music. It was one of the first artists to launch the label she created in the year 1990. DiFranco was the child of Elizabeth (Ross), and Dante Americo DiFranco. They met at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her father was Italian descent as was her mother originally from Montreal. Ani diFranco composed and sang the song 32 Flavors.
