Ali MacGraw

Ali MacGraw (Elizabeth Alice MacGraw) is an American animal rights activist, author also a model, actor and author. Her movies are Love Story (1970), Goodbye Columbus ( 1969) and The Getaway ( 1972). Born and raised in an artistic family living in New York she wished to pursue a career in the field of art. While working as assistant to photographers, she turned her attention to modeling and acting. Her first two movies were noticed, and she was awarded the Golden Globe Award of Most promising newcomer. MacGraw became an international star after her 1970 movie Love Story, which earned an Academy Award nomination as well as an award from the Golden Globe. With just three releases she received the title of top female box-office start around the globe. Handprints, signatures and footprints were engraved in 1972 at the Grauman's Chinese Theater. The other films she has appeared on are The Getaway Convoy Players, TV miniseries The Winds of War and many more. In 1991, her autobiography Moving Pictures came out. MacGraw was married three times.
